With Mother’s Day just around the corner, what have you got planned?

Nothing?…

Well here is a list of the events you can find in Perth this weekend to celebrate the mothers in your life.

Special Events

If you want to give your mum something you can both learn from, take in a hand lettering workshop this Saturday from 10am. Here you can learn the basics of using the professional brush pen and basic letterforms and techniques. This workshop is a perfect gift and activity for someone who is a creative soul and loves to learn.

On Saturday night, treat mum to the wonders of the universe at Scitech Planetarium experience. Enjoy the beauty of the universe for one night only with a drink and a complimentary cupcake. Scitech will also be offering a free pass to mums on Sunday.

Want something a bit different to your simple breakfast? Why not enjoy a Mother’s Day breakfast with the koalas at The Maze in Bullsbrook. Enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast and meet The Maze’s cutest and cuddliest residents. After that, enjoy discount tickets for the park’s activities, including mini golf and the mazes.

Throughout the day, Heritage Perth will open its doors so you can experience some history in our city. Take a sneak peek inside the exclusive Karakatta Club, where you can enjoy cream tea and free performances all day. Head to the Bon Marche Arcade to see the history of fashion and shopping and also experience a makeover from a pop up vintage make-up artist and stylist. You can also check out the history behind the Cathedral House, and St John’s ProCathedral.

Another site to visit on Sunday is the Bell Tower where you can experience more culture and history. Mothers get free entry and can enter a draw to win a special gift. To keep the children happy, there are activity sheets for younger and older children, as well as fun activities for the family.

One of the biggest events is the Mother’s Day Classic, which is the annual walk to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Join the community for a walk or run in honour of the people who have been affected by breast cancer and to help raise awareness.

Free Events

At the Cathedral Square on Saturday, make mum a special hand-made gift to give her this Mother’s Day. Workshops include floral table arrangements, chocolate decorating and chime decorating, so there is something for every mum. You can also make personalised cards and get store-bought presents gift wrapped.

Want a handmade gift but don’t want to make it yourself? Also, soak in the atmosphere of music from local buskers and the warm welcome of the artists presenting their creations.
