A 77-year-old woman has been threatened with a syringe in Bicton.

The incident occurred when a 40-year-old man from South Lake broke in to her home on Canning Hwy yesterday and stole the woman’s handbag and mobile phone.

The man was arrested by Fremantle police about 11pm when he was spotted on Leake Street in Fremantle.

Fremantle Detectives charged the man with aggravated burglary, stealing; aggravated indecent assault, possessing prohibited drugs, threats and assault.

He is due to appear before the Fremantle Magistrates Court today.
