A QantasLink jet travelling from Newman has made an emergency landing at Perth Airport after fumes floated through the cabin.

The QF1623 pilots landed the plane and deployed the emergency slides to evacuate all 102 passengers safely.

When the flight reported it was about to make an emergency landing fire crews, ambulances and police all rushed to the scene.

It is believed a hydraulic problem after takeoff caused the incident.
