Justice Minister Michael Keenan has urged Australians to attend Anzac parades across the country despite police having uncovered plans for a terror attack in Sydney.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested yesterday and charged with one count of preparing for, or planning, an act of terrorism on Anzac Day.
Mr Keenan said authorities were doing what they could to keep people safe.
“I encourage all Australians to embrace the spirit of Anzac Day and go about participating in today’s usual activities,” he said.
Anyone who notices suspicious activity is asked to call the National Security Hotline on 1800 123 400.
