Perth City Council has decided on the preferred model for its new public lending library and plaza.
The design, by Kerry Hill Architects, includes six floors with meeting rooms, gallery spaces, cafes and a children’s room.
Deputy Lord Mayor John Tognolini says the design is an easy standout due to its use of space and circular ground plan.
The library will be located in Hay Street on the site of the Law Chambers building which will be demolished next year.
Councillor Tognolini says the new public venue will be built with students, residents and tourists in mind.
