University is supposed to be a time for exploring new ideas, identities and social groups.

But with high fees, the rising cost of living and restrictions on how much they can work, many international students in WA are just struggling to get by.

Some are working to the point of breakdown, while others are at risk of being exploited by unscrupulous employers.
