Police have appealed for public help to locate a pet horse taken from a home in Gingin late last night.

Police say the horse, called Nemo, was last seen in its float being towed by a white ute.

The horse is owned by a young girl who is said to be distraught at the disappearance of Nemo.

Nemo is a quarter horse, dark brown in colour with a white star on its forehead and a white sock on a rear leg.

Police are urging anyone who has any information to call 131444.
