Police say a 68-year-old fisherman who drowned after falling from his boat off Alkimos yesterday was wearing a lifejacket.

The man’s body was found this morning on a beach in Yanchep after an extended search.

The search began after the experienced fisherman’s tinnie was moving in circles off the coast, with only his dog on board.  

The family has been notified but the man’s name has not been released.
