WA Day weekend free activities

Stuck on things to do for this WA Day long weekend? We have you covered with these free activities throughout Perth.

WA Day Festival at Burswood Park

Burswood Park will be the home of the WA Day Festival this year and the larger area means there is a number of celebratory activities and exhibitions to get around. The weekend will include amusement rides, a kids’ activity zone, plenty of food trucks along Synergy Eat Street, a showcase of local WA wine and a number of sporting clinics presented by the stars of Western Australian sport. Sunday night will end in a fireworks display before the festival kicks off again on Monday.

Road Trip to Lancelin

It is definitely a long weekend tradition in Western Australia to head up north on a road trip, especially when the weather in Lancelin is in the mid to high twenties. Only a short hour-and-a-half drive out from Perth, Lancelin is the perfect weekend escape particularly when camping at the South End Caravan Park is only $12.50 per person a night. From here, you can head out to Back Beach for a day of relaxing or head to the sand dunes for your shot at sand boarding.

Hike Bluff Knoll

The cooler weather is the perfect chance to put on your joggers and active wear and climb Bluff Knoll which is located in the Stirling Ranges in WA’s south west, a four-hour drive from Perth. The hike takes around three hours to complete and provides some of the most beautiful views across the sea of greenery below.
