A man aged in his 20s has injured his back after falling down a well at Pinjarra Industrial Estate.

Two ambulance crews were alerted to the incident at 1.30pm on Monday and attended the site along with about 25 Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel.

A St John Ambulance spokesperson said due to the nature of his injuries the man was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital for further examination at the state trauma centre.

The incident was managed by St John Ambulance and the Western Independent understands it was attended by the entire Pinjarra police force.
