A 40-year-old man has been charged over an attempted armed robbery at a Joondalup bank yesterday afternoon.
The Bentley man allegedly entered the bank on Grand Boulevard about 3.35pm, demanding money while armed with a screwdriver.
He allegedly threw a bottle at one of the teller windows causing it to crack, and after failing to obtain any money, left the premises on foot.
He was then seen boarding a bus, where police arrested him a short time later.
The man has been charged with attempted armed robbery and will appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court today.
