A Perth student has been threatend with garden shears on a Transperth bus in Como this morning.

A police spokesman said the boy was catching a bus near the intersection of Throssel St and Thelma St about 7.50am.

The boy was not injured during the incident.

Police attended the scene and took the man into custody. He has since been taken to hospital to undergo a medical assessment.
