Wheelchair Sports WA to re-brand

WA disability organisation Wheelchair Sports WA plans to change its name to better reflect the type of work it does in the community.

The group was today awarded a $210,000 Lotterywest grant which it will use to re-brand and also to upgrade its IT system.

Chief executive officer Raymond Yong said the grant would allow the charity to make significant changes.

Mr Yong said re-branding would help to alert the public to the other activities in which the group was involved.

“We don’t just do sport, we work through the hospitals, rehabilitation, we run educational programs for the schools; so the finding of a new name and logo will help us communicate better what it is we do,” Mr Yong said.

Disability Services Minister Donna Faragher said the grant would help raise community awareness of the group.
