SHANNON GILLESPIE
I was taking some photographs of the city skyline when I noticed this woman sitting on a park bench at the South Perth foreshore.
She seemed utterly content to just sit quietly on a park bench and watch people go by with the city in the background.
We had a little trouble communicating, but she asked if I was a journalist and if I was working or just taking photos of the city for fun.
It was nice to tell her “both”.
This photo is one in a series of Perth hotshots – a selection of photojournalism by students at Curtin University in the Western Australian state capital of Perth.
