'Premeditated attack'


A 17-year old boy sustained serious head and facial injuries when he and three friends were hit by a “premeditated attack” in Rockingham on Saturday night.

The four boys were walking along Safety Bay Road in Warnbro when a group of 10 males allegedly attacked them with baseball bats, golf clubs and hockey sticks.

The group of 10 parked in three cars before allegedly ambushing the boys and driving off.

A late model Ford Falcon and a large dark blue sedan were among the group’s cars. Police did not receive a description of the third car.

Two of the four boys managed to run off, while another received minor injuries.

Several people helped the 17-year-old before he was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

He suffered a fractured skull, facial injuries, and bruising to the brain and right elbow – but is now in a stable condition.

Police spokesman Gerry Cassidy said the alleged ambush was a “serious and premeditated attack”.
