Midwives from across the globe plan to use the power of the internet to host a virtual conference.
The conference will be part of the 2012 International Day of the Midwife campaign.
The campaign will push to see expert maternal care offered to all women going through childbirth.
Clinical nurse and midwife manager at Osborne Park Hospital, Donna Baker, will be participating in the conference.
“In the very least, the conference will create a small amount of public awareness and a reignite passion in midwives to continue the fight for better care for women,” said Mrs Baker (pictured).
“The conference may also assist in driving legislative change to maternal care policies in Australia.”
The 24-hour conference will get underway on May 5.
