An eighth person has been charged over the murder of Patrick “Paddy” Slater outside Elizabeth Quay bus station in January.

Major Crime Squad officers have charged a 14-year-old boy with murder. He is expected to appear in the Perth Children’s Court this morning.

The boy becomes the third juvenile charged over the incident.

Police will allege the men and boys chased Mr Slater outside the station early on Janary 27 and beat him with weapons, including bottles and rocks.

Mr Slater’s group had allegedly been involved in an another altercation with the men and boys earlier that evening.
